Barre C. Dumas
Barre C. Dumas is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law, Samford University
having earned his J.D. in law. He was admitted to the practice of law
in the State of Alabama in October 1980
and has engaged in the private practice of law since then.
For twenty-years Mr. Dumas’ primary area of practice has been in
representing institutional creditors in state courts and federal bankruptcy
courts. He has lectured in various continuing legal education venues
on subjects of importance in creditor/debtor law and has been a presenter
in creditor client sponsored seminars.
Mr. Dumas is admitted to practice law in all Alabama state courts,
the United States Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts
of Alabama, and the 11th
and 5th Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal. He is a member of the State of Alabama
Bar Association and the Mobile Bar Association. He is past chairman of the
Law Day Committee for the Mobile Bar and has served on that Bar’s District
Court Committee.
Mr. Dumas attended the University of the South (Sewanee) where he was
a member of Phi Delta Theta. He attended the University of South
Alabama on a debate
team scholarship and earned his B.A. degree with a major in political science.
